THIS PROJECT MEANT A LOT TO ME ABOUT BANTAYANON LANGUAGE IT CAN HELP THE NEXT GENERATIONS OF BANTAYANON NOT JUST TO KNOW THE UNIQUENESS OF THEIR LANGUAGE BUT ALSO THE IMPORTANCE OF IT. IT WILL HELP THEIR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT BINANTAYANON WORDS ESPECIALLY THOSE WORDS THAT ARE BEING FORGOTTEN BY US.
John Mendoza SumagaysayIn my own opinion, this project is important because it will be easier for Bantayanons to understand the contents of the books when it is contextualized or translated into our own language.
Mario LayagueThis project is important to me because it will give Bantayanons a dictionary that we can call our own, something that we can be proud of: a language that we can pass through to future generations and will never be forgotten! It’s like building a legacy of our own native tongue by sharing it with the people or tourists that come to Bantayan Island; they will never be lost because Bantayanons have something to offer through the Singgana Project Dictionary. I am proud to say, "Come to our place and experience our unique way of communicating through our native language!"
Analyn Y. CenaFor me, having this Bantayanon dictionary will be beneficial to Bantayanons in communicating with others. Through this, our language will be understood.
Jessica QuijanoIt is extremely of great help as a learning resource, not only for Bantayanons but for those who are learning to enrich their communication skills. It also promotes the Bantayanons’ preserved, independent culture and its heritage to the whole world. By these creative ways, the significant impact will be more impressive and effective!
Rufina De la Pieza PescanteFor me this project is important because it will make the whole world know that, even though we are living on just a small island, still we are independent in the sense that we have our own language that we use to communicate with each other. This project will also preserve and protect our own language from the encroaching various languages that surround us.
Malaarni Carabana NecesarioIn my opinion as a youth, it is a big help to us for everybody to be able to understand the words from Binantayon to English and make them easier to learn, most importantly by restoring the native language of Bantayanon so that it will not be forgotten.
Rechelle Kathryne A. CarataoThis is a project wherein we BANTAYANON can trace up our origin thru the language that we are using now. Our bantayanon language is a very unique medium that will tell us each an every one of us our characters. We are a mixture of a cebuano, hiligaynon, masbateno, waray, tagalog and other languages. This is THE project that will PRESERVED AND PROTECT THE BANYAYANON LANGUAGE.
Lupercio Brigoli FernandezFor me this project is so essential to us Bantayanons because this is one of the best way to preserve and enrich our culture, thus giving us a deeper understanding of our past, to connect to the present, and to face the future.
Jesusa Mangubat DeoIt is such an honor for me to be a part of this project. The love that the Bantayanons have for their language is truly contagious! I am blessed to be able to play a part in its maintenance and preservation.
Jarrette K. AllenWhat a great way to preserve Bantayanon culture!
Bernardita S. DespiThis project plays a very significant role because it not only allows us Bantayanons to communicate easily and connect with one another, but it allows us to understand and appreciate our own culture and aids in the learning of another language.
Ma. Arisul A. EscarroI had done only a bit of preliminary research on Bantayanon for my Ph.D. dissertation (The Bisayan Dialects of the Philippines: Subgrouping and Reconstruction - 1975 - Cornell). I had enough data to make some judgments that it was a Central Bisayan speech variety related to Waray, Hiligaynon, and Romblomanon. It was Jarrette Allen who re-enlightened my interest in this magnificent language over the past few years. I am therefore keen and extremely willing to cooperate in making his dictionary a worthy and lasting contribution to Philippine linguistics.
